Musher's Weekend

Experience a full weekend of winter adventures on a husky kennel in the Swedish north. Dog sledding, snow mobiles, cook outs and 2 nights in a cosy cabin - this is all a part of the Musher's Weekend.

  • Friday - Day of Arrival (3 pm)

Upon your arrival you will be shown to your accomodations for the weekend. This first day is for you to get settled, get to know us, meet the dogs a little and start preparing for your first day of adventure. You'll also get to help prepping the sleds for the next day and join in feeding the dogs during the evening.

In the evening you will be invited to a typical Swedish dinner, that we will finish off with coffee/tea around the campfire.

  • Saturday - Day Two

The day starts at 8.00 am. It it time for the dogs to eat their breakfast – and since you're living the Musher Life this weekend, you'll get to join in with the morning chores around the kennel.

It is now time to start preparing for your first sledding adventure. While the dogs are resting their stomachs, you'll get an introduction in Sledding 101, where you learn about the sleds and the basics of driving and handling a sleddog team. After a tea/coffee, we'll head out for a first run.

Our lunch will be enjoyed out on the trails, while the dogs get a well deserved rest and a snack.

Back at the kennel, you will join us in taking care of the dogs post running. This entails a simple check up routine, stretch/massage, lots of cuddling and giving the dogs food.

After some rest for both dogs and humans we will enjoy a nice dinner, that we cook together.

Sunday - Last Day at the Kennel (ends at ~3 pm)

Once again, we will start the day at 8.00 am with the morning chores at the kennel. We will then start prepping for a shorter run with the dogs, while they are resting their stomachs.

Around 9.30 am we will head out on a shorter run with the dogs, on the nearby mires.

When back home we will give the dogs lunch, before getting ready for our own lunch, which will be cooked over open fire. Depending on the weather we will take the snowmobiles to one of the nearby wind sheds, to cook and enjoy our last meal together.

Roughly around 3 pm we will be back at the homestead. This will mark the end of your adventure with us, here at In I Norden.
